Graphic Design Research Initiative Internship + Writers in the School

As an intern at University of Houston-Downtown, I worked with my fellow graphic design students and Professor Gaby Hernandez on an exhibition with Writers in the Schools. We used expressive typography to create visual art from poetry from students learning writing from WITS, non-profit organization that teaches reading and writing for school age children. In May 2016, the artwork exhibited at MOCA, the Houston City Hall Underground Gallery. The collection purchased later by the University of Houston-Downtown.
